Mitch Micale’s Common-Sense Solutions for PA House District 130
As a local school district teacher and Reading Area Community College Trustee, Mitch Micale is focused on the kitchen-table issues that matter most: protecting your property tax dollars, empowering parental rights, and securing the future of the 130th District
CORE ISSUES
Mitch’s Priorities for District 130 are Defending Freedom: Protecting our Second Amendment rights and constitutional liberties, Supporting First Responders: Standing firmly with the police, firefighters, and EMS personnel who keep us safe, Fiscal Responsibility: Fighting for property tax relief and stopping the growth of government bureaucracies, and Restoring Trust: Bringing accountability, transparency, and accessibility back to state government.
Education & Parental Rights
As a classroom teacher, Mitch believes education is a lifeline to opportunity. He will fight for curriculum transparency, protect parental rights, and ensure every child has access to a high-quality education regardless of their zip code.
Fiscal Discipline & Tax Relief
With families stretched thin by rising costs, Mitch will prioritize cutting wasteful state spending to protect taxpayers. He will work to keep costs low and explore meaningful property tax relief for our seniors and families.
Economic Growth & Energy
Mitch supports energy policies that unleash Pennsylvania’s potential to lower utility bills and create high-paying local jobs. He will work to reduce the regulatory burden on our local businesses.
Safe & Secure Communities
Mitch will ensure our first responders have the resources they deserve. His plan provides local law enforcement with essential tools and staffing, while delivering sustainable state support for our volunteer fire and EMS departments to overcome rising costs and dwindling manpower.
Property Tax & Local Government
Stopping Tax Hikes
Mitch will fight against unfunded mandates from Harrisburg that force local municipalities to raise property taxes on hardworking families. Property Tax Relief for Berks County Seniors and Families are a serious priority for Mitch Micale!
Fighting for Our Fair Share of State Grants
Berks County taxpayers send millions to Harrisburg, and Mitch will ensure that money comes back to work for us. He will be a tireless advocate for our local boroughs and townships, aggressively pursuing state grants for critical infrastructure, such as road repairs, bridge safety, and updated water and sewer systems. By securing these competitive funds, Mitch will help take the burden off local property owners and ensure our community remains a safe.
Government Accountability
It is time for extraordinary accountability in government. Mitch supports forensic audits of state spending and greater transparency in how your tax dollars are utilized.
Protecting Local Control & Zoning Rights
Mitch believes that the people best suited to make decisions about our community are the ones who actually live here, not distant bureaucrats in Harrisburg. He will staunchly defend the ‘Local Control’ principle, ensuring our townships and boroughs retain their exclusive authority to set zoning and land-use policies. Mitch will fight any state-level overreach that attempts to force unwanted developments or high-density projects onto our local neighborhoods without community consent. This includes Data Centers as well, Mitch will fight for the rights of local municipalities to make their own decisions.
Empowering Our Boroughs & Small Municipalities
Our boroughs and townships, like Boyertown, Fleetwood, Bally, and Longswamp Township are the heart of the 130th District. Mitch understands that these small municipalities face unique challenges, from revitalizing Main Streets to supporting local police and fire departments. He will work directly with local councils to cut through state red tape and provide the resources needed to keep our town centers vibrant, our small businesses thriving, and our unique local character intact.
Supporting Our First Responders
Our local volunteer fire departments are the backbone of public safety in Berks County, but they are currently facing a critical crisis in both funding and recruitment. Mitch understands that these brave men and women save taxpayers millions of dollars every year. In Harrisburg, Mitch will fight for increased state funding and low-interest loan programs specifically targeted at volunteer departments in the 130th District. He will advocate for tax incentives to help recruit and retain new volunteers and work to ensure that state grant processes are streamlined so our first responders can focus on what they do best: protecting our lives and property.
Election Integrity
Mitch believes the only way to ensure free and fair elections is through voter ID and the elimination of unconstitutional, no-excuse mail in ballots.
2nd Amendment Rights
Mitch believes the Framers of our Constitution said it best — “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
